This reality has led eight states (California, Illinois, Nevada, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Hawaii and Maine) to enact laws that effectively ban the sale of cosmetics that were produced using animal testing. In Rhode Island, passage of H. 7074 could make the state the ninth in the nation to pass this popular legislation.
